| Documentaries that record city images are like a "mirror" of the city,reflecting the local customs,history,culture,and spiritual temperament of the city.The documentary "24 Hours in the City" records urban stories from an innovative perspective and depicts the city’s character with life fragments,and realizes the contemporary writing of urban temperament.Once it was broadcast,it attracted attention from all walks of life.The success of "City 24Hours" is that it breaks away from the grand narrative perspective of previous urban documentaries,creatively condenses the urban temperament into 24 hours a day for display,integrates the ordinary stories of ordinary people into the image,and Innovative thinking is incorporated in the use of narrative techniques and the conception of narrative strategies.Therefore,this article attempts to study the narrative characteristics of "24 Hours in the City" from a narrative point of view,discover its shortcomings,and try to propose corresponding optimization strategies to provide references for the future development of the same type and even all types of documentaries in my country.This article mainly takes the "24 Hours in the City" series of documentaries as the research object,supported by narratology-related theories,and sorts out how this documentary combines low-level characters with urban development,how to spread urban culture and unique temperament from an innovative perspective,and How does the whole documentary arrange the narrative structure for story narration.The full text is mainly developed from three aspects.First,analyze the narrative theme and narrative subject of "24 Hours in the City",discuss its narrative theme for the purpose of exploring urban temperament,and the characteristics of focusing on civilian characters in the narrative subject.Secondly,it analyzes the "how to speak" of "24 Hours in the City",mainly focusing on the narrative perspective,narrative structure,narrative style,narrative language,etc.,and summarizes the distinctive characteristics of the series of documentaries in narrative-related aspects.Finally,on the basis of summarizing and analyzing the narrative characteristics,it reflects on the shortcomings of "24 Hours in the City",and proposes targeted optimization strategies such as innovative filming,moderate defamiliarization of content,appropriate use of long shots,and attempts of nonlinear narrative structure.Provide ideas to solve the problems in the narrative of "24 Hours in the City",and provide more possibilities for the creation and development of the same type of urban documentary. |
