| City,as a large human production and living settlement,is the epitome of the development process of human social civilization.Every city has its own unique historical origin,contains a variety of elements and emotions,and shows different styles and looks.Since the reform and opening up,the urbanization process has been accelerating,and by the end of 2022,the urbanization rate had reached 65.22%.In recent years,people are paying more attention to urban civilization,and the lens of documentaries is also focusing on the city again.Many documentaries with the city as the object of performance have appeared in people’s vision,recording the style of the city,writing the history of the city and showing the spirit of the city,which has become a crucial cultural resource in the process of urban development and change.The graduation work "Meeting Xinyang",as a city documentary,takes the image and temperament of Xinyang as the theme,and presents the historical and humanistic connotation of Xinyang from the aspects of historical relics,special features and daily life of the market.This paper,closely combined with the creative practice of graduation work "Meeting Xinyang",from the narrative strategy and creative value of the two aspects of theoretical exposition and detailed analysis.This paper is divided into three parts.The first part defines the concept of urban documentary,distinguishes the concept and type of urban documentary and urban propaganda film,and systematically combs the development process and development status of urban documentary.In the second part,from the perspective of narratology,from the three aspects of narrative theme,narrative perspective and narrative language,the graduation work "Meeting Xinyang" explains how to show the city image through the city’s historical relics,special features and daily life.How to tell the story of the city through the dual perspectives of personal inner focus perspective and intellectual zero focus perspective;How to depict the urban temperament through the complementary sound and picture of two narrative languages.The third part deconstructs the whole film from different perspectives,and discusses the creative value of the graduation work "Meeting Xinyang" in constructing cultural identity and enriching city image,as well as the shortcomings in exploring city history and culture,showing characters’ emotions in a short way,presenting the camera images in a single way,and too much subjective involvement in the post editing.This paper summarizes and reflects on the problems and shortcomings existing in the practice process,and explores a new optimization path,in order to provide certain inspiration and experience for the creation of documentaries of the same type. |
