| Police officers have long been one of the most risky and dedicated teams in peacekeeping,and there are numerous documentaries created based on this team,which have played a role in promoting and facilitating the image of police officers and the relationship between the police and the public.In recent years,along with the development of new media technology,audiences’ viewing needs and preferences have changed,and accordingly,the dissemination and narrative strategies of police documentaries have also changed.On the basis of retaining the core attribute of authenticity,web-based police documentaries present a more flesh-and-blood police image with storytelling content,grounded style,and web-sensitive expression,breaking the social public’s inherent perception of the image of the police force.Bilibili(hereinafter referred to as B station),as one of the largest producers of web-based police documentaries in China,has led the trend of creating web-based police documentaries in China.The subject of this paper,"Big City No Small Thing-City Real Heroes",as a police documentary jointly produced by B station and Shanghai Oriental TV,continues the superb expressive power of B station’s web-based documentary in terms of narrative,and has gained wide acclaim from young audiences.This paper takes "Real Heroes of the City" police documentary as the main research object,analyzes its narrative strategy with the help of narrative theory,and summarizes its innovative performance in terms of narrative subject,narrative event,narrative structure,narrative perspective,narrative time and space through case analysis,text analysis and literature research method,so as to provide experience inspiration for the development of police documentary.This paper is divided into six chapters in total.The first chapter analyzes the research background,research significance and the current situation of domestic and foreign research on this topic.Chapter 2 provides an overview of Chinese police documentaries and narratological theory,and explores the possibility of studying police documentary narratives with narratology.The third,fourth and fifth chapters investigate the narrative of The Real Hero of the City from three levels: narrative story,narrative discourse and narrative symbol.Chapter 6,based on the narrative analysis of "Real Heroes of the City",suggests that the future police documentaries in China should organize the narrative plot with storytelling and keep the narrative theme in mind;construct a humanistic perspective and adjust the narrative time and space flexibly;and enrich the audiovisual language to meet the appreciation habits of the net audience. |
