A Contrastive Study On Intermediate Reading Textbooks For Chinese As A Foreign Language

Textbooks are an important basis for students’ learning and teachers’ teaching.The selection and use of textbooks not only affects students and teachers,but also affects the development of the entire Chinese as a foreign language course.Intermediate Chinese reading textbooks are diverse.The courses of these textbooks are no longer attached to comprehensive courses,but become an independent course in major colleges and universities.This article combines the development status of intermediate Chinese reading textbooks for foreigners,takes the intermediate Chinese reading class as the research background,takes the 6-volume textbooks of " Read This Way" and the third volume "Chinese Reading Course" textbook as the research objects,and collects relevant statistics on the two textbooks.Comparing the two textbooks with theoretical analysis,and then discovering their own characteristics,advantages and disadvantages.Students can choose what they want to learn through the analysis of textbooks,and teachers can constantly adjust their own teaching behaviors to meet the actual teaching situation.The research of this article is mainly divided into seven chapters.The first chapter is the introduction,including four parts: the reason and significance of the topic,the research object,the research method,and the research status.The second chapter analyzes the two textbooks from the perspective of writing style,including the concept of compiling,the overall structure of the textbooks and the analysis of the single-course structure,then compare the two textbook compilation styles and point out their respective characteristics;Chapters 3 to 5 analyze the content of the textbooks,covering three parts: text,new words,and after-school exercises.Each part analyzes the two textbooks from different perspectives;Chapter 6 points out the advantages and disadvantages of the two textbooks,and gives the corresponding parts some suggestions combined with questionnaire survey results;Chapter 7 is the conclusion part,pointing out the research results of this article and the deficiencies that need to be improved.
