A Report On Consecutive Interpreting Of 2019 Taxation New Policy Exchange Forum

In recent years,the international community has paid more and more attention to the development of China and more and more foreigners and overseas enterprises have come to China for new development opportunities.At the same time,as many new international conferences are held in China,many interpreters are likely to have chances to access different interpretation programs.Nowadays,conference interpreting is not only the program limited by governments of all levels and some other organizations,and conference interpreting from all corporations and groups is also becoming more and more official and professional,posing great challenges to interpreters in knowledge reserve and mental preparation.This thesis is a report on interpretation practice.The main content is the translation process that the interpreter had experienced in a forum called "2019Taxation New Policy Exchange Forum" which was jointly organized by the British-Chinese Business Association,under the British Chamber of Commerce in Southwest China,and G-link(Chengdu)Business Consulting Co.,Ltd.The main agenda of the forum was that certified public accountants from Chinese tax company gave an explanation of the newly issued tax policies of 2019 to small and medium-sized domestic and foreign enterprises around Chengdu.And then representatives from various enterprises raised questions about the new policies and corresponding answers were given by the certified public accountants.This interpretation practice report is guided by the "Interpretive Theory" advanced by the famous Parisian representative,Seleskovitch,in the 1960 s.The report consists of four parts,including the task background and significance;a brief introduction to the theory that guided the whole interpreting process;the difficulties and challenges,including long and difficult sentences,lengthy information,interpreting without note-taking and so on,that author had encountered during the interpreting process and the solutions adopted to address the difficulties and challenges.The last part is mostly the assessment of the author’s fulfillment of the interpreting task at the forum.Looking back his performance in this conference,the author has realized that he should have more chances of interpretation practice so that he is more capable of reducing problems in actual interpreting.In this regard,the author still has a long way to go.The author hopes that through this interpreting project,he will find his strengths and weaknesses.While improving his interpretation level as much as possible,he can also provide some help and reference for others in tax-related interpretation.
