An Analysis Of Problems And Solutions In Escort Interpretation

Escort interpretation refers to the interpreting activities provided in business escort,travelling escort and other activities.Owing to this,it usually appears in informal occasions.It not only involves many aspects of professional knowledge,but also involves some social etiquette.So the requirements for interprets are relatively high.This thesis is a report on the practice of escort interpretation.The author accompanied the members of Zhongyouxin Utions Technology Limited Company to meet their foreign guests on June 15,2018,and served as an escort interpreter during the meeting.Based on this practice of escort interpreting,the author discussed the main problems that occurred in the escort interpreting,analyzed the reasons that affected the quality of escort interpreting,and provided solutions from the perspective of subject role of interpreters.The author believed that the subject role of interpreters,good bilingual competence,and flexible use of interpreting skills are essential for escort interpreting.The thesis was divided into four chapters.The author first explained the background and specific process of the escort interpretation.In chapter two the author summarized the definition and features of escort interpreting and the theories related to the subject role of interpreters.Chapter three was the core part of this thesis.The author found out the typical problems in escort interpreting through specific case analysis,then analyzed them one by one through the theory of subject role of interpreters,and finally provided interpretation skills.In the fourth chapter the author concluded the whole paper,pointing out that improving the quality of escort interpreting requires a lot of efforts.
