2018 Hangzhou International Jewelry Fair Escort Interpretation Practice Report

With steady progress of economic globalization and frequent economic exchanges,the development of exhibition industry has been greatly advanced,making exhibition interpreting a more significant and urgent job.The thesis has recorded my internship experience in the 21 st Hangzhou International Jewelry Exhibition where I worked as an escort interpreter for Chairman M.S.M.A Cader,a Sri Lankan jeweler of Multi Gems.The thesis has first analyzed what is interpreted during the course,then concluding its problems and difficult points: Sri Lankans' English accent,inappropriate positioning of the role in exhibition interpreting as well as the misinterpretation of terminologies.What's more,it has put forward the corresponding strategies with a combination of theories and actual experience: Analyzing the features of sir Lankans' English accent and predicting based on association,accurate position of the role in interpreting,the enhancement of learning during interpreting and the resonable access to internet.In addition,it has summarized what I have learnt from this experience.Finally,the thesis has offered several tips about how to improve the level of interpreting and meet the market's demands.
