An Escort Consecutive Interpreting Practice Report For An Italian Architecture Expert In Northeast Agricultural University

With the rapid development of economy,China is increasingly focusing on its communications with other nations.Artists from all over the world can make joint process if they could share resources,continuously learn from and communicate with each other.With the increasing communication of China with other countries,interpreting receives more attemtions than before.As an interpretation-major student,the author was lucky to participate in and fulfill the practice of escort interpretation.On May 5^th,2016,Prof.Rosa Tamborrino,an Italian architecture expert,visited Northeast Agricultural University and communicated with the faulty and students of the Architectural college on the subject of the construction architecture of China and other nations.As the escort interpreter of the task,the author finished this interpretation practice report on the basis of her experience.The author deeply felt the difficulties of the task.After the task,the author organized the materials,analyzed the problems,reflected on the shortcomings,streamlined strategies,concluded experience and finally finished the report.The practice report is divided into four chapters.The first chapter is the introduction of the task,which mainly includes:the introduction of the client and the task,as well as the requirements of the task.In the second chapter,the author introduces the process of the escort interpretation.It includes the preparatory step,the interpreting in process,the assessments after interpreting as well as self-assessment.The third chapter is the most important part,which is the analysis of the notes in the interpretation practice.Based on the schema theory,the author continually study,retrospect and summarize the note-taking problems in the practice and finally summarize five problems:missing information,forgetting source language,making false pauses,making logical confusion and utilizing special notes.The last chapter is the author’s reflection and conclusion,including the harvests,problems and related thinking,and the inspirations and expectations for the study and work in the future.
