Abstract/Summary:
“Belt and Road Initiative” has not only brought a new opportunity for China’s economic development,but also deepened cultural exchanges between China and other countries.As an important part of China’s traditional culture,traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),with its unique national characteristics,has attracted wide attention from all over the world,and the spread of TCM culture has been paid more and more attention.At the same time,the English translation of TCM texts has played an important role,which not only promotes the exchange of education and culture,but also helps to play its unique value,making people realize the deep culture sedimentation.The translator was commissioned by Malaysia Yong Yi Chinese Medicine Center to translate chapter 3 of A Comprehensive Guide to the Core Points of Acupuncture.This article is a report on C-E translation of Traditional Chinese Medicine Acupuncture text.The original text A Comprehensive Guide to the Core Points of Acupuncture(Excerpts)is a summary of the important knowledge points and core examination points of the course Acupuncture and Moxibustion.This book is based on vernacular language,and many classical quotations of ancient Chinese medical texts are quoted and interspersed,therefore the text contains a large amount of profound knowledge of basic Chinese medical theory,Chinese acupuncture terminology and TCM culture.In this research,the content of chapter 3 of A Comprehensive Guide to the Core Points of Acupuncture was selected as the original text,and “Text Type Theory” and“Skopos Theory” were used as the theoretical guidance for translation.The translation problems,difficulties and solutions of meridian circulation are introduced from the three major levels of Chinese medical acupuncture terminology and Chinese medical classical sentences as well as discourse translation,and the translation characteristics and techniques of this type of text are initially explored and discussed.In the case analysis,transliteration,literal translation and free translation are used in the translation of TCM acupuncture terms.The translation of sentences should be adjusted according to the different purposes and needs of the target text,and the strategies of domestication and foreignization should be adopted to achieve the translation purpose of this translation practice.In text translation,the translator pays attention to "Textual Coherence" and "Textual Cohesion" based on faithfulness to the original text.This translation practice report,with the purpose of cultural outreach,aims to bring inspiration to the practice of English translation of Chinese medicine and acupuncture texts,and hopes to provide reference and reference for the foreign exchange of Chinese medicine and acupuncture culture.
