This is a translation project report whose source text is the Chapter 2(Classroom Management)taken from the book named The Truth About Teaching: An Evidence-Informed Guide for New Teachers by Greg Ashman.It is of significance for new teachers in china's elementary and high schools acquaint themselves with some of foreign educational theories and benefit from them.Drawing on years of teaching experience in a diverse range of schools and powered by understanding of educational research,Greg Ashman reveals an array of teaching techniques and methods in the perspective of evidence-informed teaching.According to the text type theory put forward by Katharina Reiss,this paper mainly focuses on bringing the author to the readers' guidance on the “teaching methods and skills applied in managing classroom in elementary and secondary schools”,which belongs to the informative type.In light of this,the translator has the obligation to express the original information to the target readers during the translation process.In addition,based on the skopos theory proposed by Hans Vermeer,the reporter adopts the translation technique-conversion in translating the passive voice.In the meantime,long and complicated sentences can be found in the source text,thus translation skills as division and combination and Conversion of Part of Speech are resorted to translate the sentences into target language as ways to secure intra-textual coherence and intertextual coherence.
