In view of the current situation of emphasizing language and neglecting culture in English Teaching in primary schools,this paper selects Y primary school in Binzhou City as the research object,carries out a study on the cultivation of cultural awareness in English Teaching in primary schools,analyzes the current situation and problems in the cultivation of cultural awareness in English teaching in primary schools,and puts forward corresponding countermeasures and suggestions,hoping to provide reference for the improvement and promotion of English cultural awareness in English Teaching in primary schools For reference.Based on the analysis of previous studies,this paper defines the concepts of cultural awareness and cross-cultural teaching,summarizes the theoretical basis of the relationship between language and culture,the theory of cross-cultural communication,Krashen’s "comprehensible input and" emotion filtering hypothesis ",which lays a theoretical foundation for the study of this paper.On this basis,this paper carries out a research design,the main research method is based on the LICC classroom observation method,supplemented by questionnaires and individual interviews.Based on this,it designs the students’ learning,teachers’ teaching,classroom culture and curriculum nature observation scale,as well as the questionnaire and interview outline.In the second half of 2019,we used the opportunity to interview and exchange the cultivation of English cultural awareness among teachers in Y primary school in Binzhou City,and made an in-depth observation on 20 English classes in Y primary school in Binzhou City.191 questionnaires were distributed to students in grade 4-5 of Y primary school in Binzhou City.10 students in grade 4-5,5 parents and 5 teachers were interviewed one-on-one.According to the research design,this paper discusses and analyzes the cultivation of English cultural awareness in Y primary school in Binzhou city.Based on the analysis of students’ cultural awareness test results,the analysis of LICC classroom observation scale,questionnaire survey and interview results,this paper makes a detailed study of the current situation of English cultural awareness training in Y primary school of Binzhou city.It is believed that there are general preparation of cultural teaching before class,solidification of thinking model of accomplishing task objectives in teaching,too large proportion of language knowledge teaching and related culture in relevant teaching This paper summarizes the difficulties and obstacles in the cultivation of primary school English cultural awareness.Finally,suggestions are put forward from four aspects: Students’ learning,teachers’ teaching,classroom culture and course nature.
