According to The New Curriculum Standard(2011)for primary school English, the age of primary school students is the key period of language learning.Primary school students are full of interest in new things, which should provide a good foundation for follow-up learning and guide students to learn actively. After our nation puts forward the requirement of "The Development of Core Literacy of Chinese Students ",teachers should guide students to develop in an all-round way,not only focusing on learning scores, but also cultivating students’ various abilities, such as comprehensive application ability, cultural literacy etc.Because the traditional classroom focuses on the explanation of knowledge and the improvement of scores, neglecting the cultivation of students’ comprehensive ability, and it is difficult to mobilize and maintain students’ interest and motivation in learning English,so it is difficult to meet the current needs of primary school students’ English learning,so it is necessary to find a new teaching mode.Experiential teaching is in line with the cognitive characteristics and development rules of students. It is committed to making learners devote all their energy to the whole learning process, respecting the individual differences of learners, developing their initiative, and preparing for the future sustainable development. Therefore, experiential teaching can solve the teaching problems of English in primary schools, which meet the needs of the new curriculum standard and key competency, realizing the aim of discipline education. In order to verify the effectiveness of experiential teaching, the author carried out a one semester action research on experiential teaching in primary school,in order to explore the impact of experiential teaching on pupils’ interest and motivation in English learning and how to use experiential teaching in primary school. The object of this action research is Class 11,Grade 6,a primary school in Changchun, with 40 students in total. In order to ensure the accuracy of the experimental data, this study conducted two questionnaires before and after the implementation of experiential teaching, and conducted student interviews during the author’s two rounds of action research. After a semester of two rounds of action research, the results show that students’ interest in English learning has improved significantly, and their motivation has changed from entrance examination to their own love of English. This action research shows that the integration of experiential teaching into primary school English teaching can improve the teaching effect, increase the class activity, enhance the interest in English learning, and enhance self-confidence.In addition,in today’s information and intelligent era, with the help of virtual reality technology in the process of experience teaching,it is more helpful to break the limitations of traditional classroom, enhance the experiential effect, and finally achieve the improvement of teaching effect. In the process of experiential teaching research in the future,we should improve teachers’ experiential teaching ability and strengthen cooperation between primary schools and universities, cultivate students’ enthusiasm to participate in the experience, and better apply experiential teaching to primary school.I hope this study can provide some references and help for primary school English teachers.
