Talent training should be guided by the market and social demand and take social demand as the starting point.With the improvement of the epidemic and the rapid growth of the world economy,the demand for business English in international trade is increasing.Interdisciplinary talents with strong foreign language expression ability,familiar with business knowledge and international trade business as well as high-level practical ability will have a huge potential market demand.Secondary vocational education aims at closely combining professional practice with market demand to cultivate applied talents engaged in professional technology,production and service work.Oral teaching of business English majors should also adapt to the demand of talent market,take students as the center,strengthen practical experience and adopt effective teaching methods.After combing and analyzing relevant literature,this study is based on the thoughts and viewpoints of constructivism theory,experiential learning theory,empiricism theory and other theories.The experiential teaching method is applied to oral English teaching in secondary vocational schools.The author carried out this action research on 57 students in Business English Class 2101 of a secondary vocational school in Changchun.The research lasted for 12 weeks through interviews,teaching observation,teacher logs and oral tests.The purpose of this action research is to provide business English students in secondary vocational schools with rich content and enough practical opportunities for oral English learning by using experiential teaching method,so as to exercise their thinking ability and improve their oral English skills,and lay a solid foundation for the future professional development of business English majors.The purpose is to solve the following problems:(1)How to effectively apply experiential teaching in oral Business English classes in secondary vocational schools?(2)What is the impact of experiential teaching method on the oral learning interest of vocational school business English majors?(3)What is the impact of experiential teaching method on the oral English proficiency or ability of vocational school business English majors?The study found that after two rounds of action research,business English majors in secondary vocational schools can be experienced through 1.trigger,2.experience in practice 3.Action application and transfer experience The above three steps of oral teaching effectively apply experiential teaching.The results of data analysis using SPSS24.0 software show that experiential teaching has a positive impact on students’ oral performance,which is mainly reflected in the accuracy,fluency and complexity of students’ oral expression.The results of in-action and post-interview,teaching observation,and the author’s teacher journal also show that the experiential approach greatly increases students’ interest in oral English.This action study is an active attempt to apply experiential teaching method in oral English teaching in secondary vocational schools,hoping to provide more references for the application of experiential teaching in oral English teaching in the future. |
