Lu Ling’s novel "battle on the lowlands" is a unique marginalized existence in the "Seventeen Year Literature" camp.Although it has caused some controversy,the artistic charm of the work has withstood the test of history and time.It presents a multi discourse and multi angle comprehensive interpretation situation from the different praise and criticism in the 1950 s to the great criticism in the middle and late period,and then to the trend of emancipating the mind.This paper intends to use the methods of literature analysis and text close reading,and draw on the relevant viewpoints of reception theory,combined with the situation before and after the creation of "battle" in the depression,through combing and inspecting the criticism of the novel since the 1950 s and 1960 s and the new era,in order to learn and summarize the lessons and experience brought by the novel in the different evaluation of the history of criticism.This paper includes five parts.The introduction mainly surveys the research backdrop and meaning,research situation at present and research methods.The first chapter is before and after the creation of "battle" in the depression.This paper mainly discusses Lu Ling,a novelist of the July School,as a member of Hu Feng in the 1950 s,as well as the situation before and after he went to the DPRK,and the aesthetic characteristics of the text.The second chapter is the response of the critics in the 1950 s and 1960 s.It mainly combs and inspects the great criticism of the novel under the background of revolutionary politics and culture in the 1950 s and 1960 s,and probes into the historical logic behind the great criticism from the criticism in the early stage to the later stage.The third chapter is the criticism since the new era.This paper mainly studies the diversified and comprehensive interpretation of the novel in the context of ideological emancipation,and explores the effective release of people’s evaluation and appreciation ability and critical vitality in the process of historical progress.The conclusion is mainly the summary and understanding of the critical history of the campaign in the depression.To explore the reasons for the different understanding of the novel in the history of criticism,the focus is to draw lessons and experience from the history of criticism of the novel,so as to investigate the development and changes of values,aesthetic awareness,readers’ horizon of expectation under different historical background.In the 1950 s,because of revealing the complex connotation of human nature,it became a theme forbidden area and was carried into the ideological storm without smoke of gunpowder.Since the new era,research has returned to the work itself,literature itself,and to the concern and research of "human".In the process of criticizing the novel,the reader’s own critical ability and aesthetic level have also been improved at a certain level.The criticism of this work in the historical context at that time will be continuously interpreted and supplemented on the critical track of later generations for several times,that is,the whole critical process will go through the historical changes of different times,so as to obtain the development of the text itself in the critical chain of repeated evaluation.
