During the development of Chinese modern literature, the July School presented a diversified feature. With the changing discourse context of times, the literary critics have demonstrated different critical viewpoints and stances in specific time and space. Under the criticism and guidance of power discourse, the political literary practice becomes the main line of the July School. This paper attempts to return to the historic site of criticism and counter-criticism of literary schools, seeking the unique historic contents the July School has displayed during its generating process. The paper intends to understand the literary stance hidden behind the criticism discourse through the concentration and focus of the literary critics on the July School literary and literary criticism. The knowledge about the July School is learned based on the criticism of Da Zhong Wen Yi, and the influence of literary criticism on the July School. The study has found a new horizon and method for the study of the literary discourse and critical discourse of the July School. This paper has conveyed the profound meaning of literary criticism from an objective perspective and got rid of the literary criticism concept of binary opposition. In this paper, the criticism history of the July School is rebuilt through the thorough study of the literary criticism discourse and literary works of the July School as well as the research on the criticism of criticism.
