| Simultaneous interpreting refers to a translation practice in which an interpreter interprets the source language into the target language and conveys the content to the audience without interrupting the speaker’s speech.This report takes Liu Daizong’s Chinese speech Future Transportation and Innovative City as the material to complete the simulated simultaneous interpreting task.The aim of the report is to summarize and reflect on this practice,and to put forward the interpreting strategies to deal with the difficulties in the process of interpreting.This report is guided by the Interpretive Theory.From the perspective of communication,it proposes that translation is a kind of communicative behavior.Therefore,the use of the Interpretive Theory can help the interpreting practice achieve better communicative effects.This report selects some difficult cases in the speech to analyse and puts forward four strategies:(1)reorganization;(2)omission;(3)amplification;(4)paraphrase.Finally,this report makes a conclusion that the use of appropriate interpreting strategies can effectively alleviate the time pressure in the process of simultaneous interpreting,reduce the influence of the source language on the target language,and improve the interpreting quality.The interpreter also makes a summary of the task and puts forward some suggestions for the future practice. |
