Objective A controlled clinical study was conducted to investigate the treatment of limb movement disorders after stroke(cerebral infarction)caused by Qi deficiency and blood stasis. The clinical efficacy and safety of Ginkgo biloba capsules and electro-acupuncture combined with conventional Western medical treatment protocols were analysed. Methods The cases were collected from 120 patients who were hospitalized in the Department of Encephalopathy of our hospital and were clinically diagnosed as having impaired limb movement after stroke(cerebral infarction)of the qi deficiency and blood stasis type, and were randomly divided into three groups,A,B and C.Forty patients in each group were treated with conventional Western medicine;group B was treated with conventional treatment plus electroacupuncture;group C was treated with conventional treatment plus electroacupuncture and Ginkgo Brain Capsules. The treatment course of the above three groups was 14 days, and the improvement of symptoms and efficacy of each group was assessed by the Fugl-Meyer score of limb function,Barthel index of daily living ability and clinical neurological deficit score before and after treatment. The data obtained were statistically analysed using SPSS 25.0 software. Results 1.general comparison: including age, gender and disease duration, the differences were not statistically significant the differences were not statistically significant(P>0.05),so they were comparable.2.intra-group comparison: after the course of treatment, the treatment protocols of groups A,B and C could improve the limb movement function of the patients, with definite clinical treatment effects.3.component comparison: after the course of treatment, two by two comparison between the three groups, the differences were significant(P> 0.05),statistically significant, and the clinical treatment effect of Group C>Group B>Group A.4.Safety analysis: During this clinical trial,no serious adverse reactions occurred, and all safety indicators were within the normal range. Conclusion The combination of self-administered Ginkgo biloba capsules and electroacupuncture in the treatment of post-stroke stroke(cerebral infarction)with qi deficiency and blood stasis resulted in more significant improvement in symptoms and signs and efficacy than conventional western medical treatment.
