Objective:This study evaluated the clinical feasibility of twelve jing-well points combined with acupuncture in the treatment of limb numbness after stroke by observing the changes of numbness symptoms,activities of daily living and quality of life of patients with limb numbness after stroke before and after treatment and the clinical efficacy after treatment.Methods:Sixty patients with limb numbness after stroke were randomly divided into a treatment group and a control group,where there were 30 cases included respectively.In addition to the basic treatment in the two groups,the control group was treated with conventional acupuncture while the treatment group was treated with conventional acupuncture combined with fast insertion bloodletting at twelve jing-well points which were selected from Shaoshang to Dadun on the affected side according to the order of meridians flowing.Conventional acupuncture was used once a day,6 times a week followed by 1day for rest;Fast insertion bloodletting was used once every other day,3times a week followed by 1 day for rest.The treatment duration is 4 weeks for both methods.The scores of Visual analogue scale(VAS),Sensory disturbance,Barthel index(BI)and WHOQOL-BREF were recorded before and after treatment.The data was analyzed by SPSS 21.0 software.Results:1.Comparison of VAS scores: After treatment,the VAS scores of the two groups were significantly reduced(P < 0.05).And the efficacy in the treatment group was better than that in the control group,the difference of results was statistically significant(P< 0.05).2.Comparison of sensory disturbance scores: After treatment,the sensory disturbance scores of the two groups were significantly increased(P< 0.05).And the efficacy in the treatment group was better than that in the control group,the difference of results was statistically significant(P <0.05).3.Comparison of BI scores: After treatment,the BI scores of the two groups were significantly increased(P < 0.05).And the efficacy in the treatment group was better than that in the control group,the difference of results was statistically significant(P< 0.05).4.Comparison of WHOQOL-BREF scores: After treatment,other than the environmental field score,the total scores of life quality and health status,as well as the scores of two groups of patients in fields of psychology,physiology and social relations all increased significantly(P < 0.05).The efficacy in the treatment group was better than that in the control group,the difference of results was statistically significant(P< 0.05).5.Comparison of clinical efficacy: The total effective rate of the treatment group was 86.67% compared with 70.00% for the control group,the difference of results was statistically significant(P< 0.05).Conclusion:1.For the treatment of limb numbness after stroke,both methods of fast insertion bloodletting at twelve jing-well points with conventional acupuncture and only conventional acupuncture have obvious therapeutic effects.2.Compared with only conventional acupuncture,the addition of fast insertion bloodletting at twelve jing-well points can better relieve the numbness of patients with limb numbness after stroke,improve their daily living abilities and life qualities.
