Objective: In the process of discipline development in modern world,the interdisciplinary integration of different disciplines is conducive to major scientific breakthroughs.Therefore,interdisciplinary research has increasingly become an indispensable research paradigm for solving human development problems.Medical informatics as a fusion of medicine,computer science and other multidisciplinary science,has significant interdisciplinary characteristics,and has become one of the main areas of current subject research.Based on this,this paper constructs a scientific research cooperation network between Chinese and American medical informatics institutions.From the perspective of the whole network,local network and node center network,a comparative analysis of the overall situation of scientific research cooperation between the two countries is carried out to grasp the medical information of China and the United States,so as to provide practical reference and effective suggestions for the development of this discipline in China.Methods: This article uses the Web of Science database as the data source and the relevant documents of medical informatics in China and the United States as the research object,comprehensively using social network analysis,scientific knowledge graphs and comparative analysis and other research methods,with the help of social network analysis software such as Ucinet and Pajek,Calculate the five indicators of network density,average clustering coefficient,average path length,average degree and core edge nodes from the macro-whole network analysis perspective,reveal the differences in the status quo of SinoUS medical informatics scientific research cooperation;calculate the tripartite group from the perspective of meso-local network analysis Indexes,and further find the institutions in the closed tripartite group,and conduct thematic analysis based on the articles issued by the institutions,revealing the differences in the theme of Sino-US medical informatics scientific research cooperation;calculate the centrality index from the perspective of micro-network node analysis,and analyze the centrality value to rank the top 10 The attributes of the important institutions of China and the United States reveal the differences in the attributes of important institutions in the Sino-US medical informatics scientific research cooperation.Results: Analyzing the overall network indicators,it can be seen that the density of the scientific research cooperation network of Chinese and American institutions is 0.0976 and 0.6495,the average clustering coefficient is 0.315 and 0.482,the average path length is 3.172 and 1.755,and the average degree is 3.902 and 46.767,respectively.(Core-Edge Analysis)The proportions of medium and high-volume publications are 57% and 100% respectively.It shows that the scientific research cooperation network of Chinese medical informatics is small,and the inter-institutional connection is not close enough and the degree of knowledge sharing is low.The number of publications of core institutions needs to be improved;the US medical informatics has a large scientific research cooperation network and close interinstitutional connections.And the degree of knowledge sharing is high,and the amount of papers issued by the core institutions is relatively large.Analyzing the local network indicators,it can be seen that the types with large differences between the institutional scientific research cooperation networks of Chinese medical informatics and random networks are mainly distributed in open structures,and the types with large differences between the institutional scientific research cooperation networks of medical informatics and random networks in the United States are in the open structure.Both open and closed structures are distributed.It shows that China is a scientific research cooperation network dominated by an open structure and tends to be closed;the United States is a scientific research cooperation network with open and closed structures and a closed structure as the leading factor.Analyzing the network node indicators,it can be seen that in 2010-2013,only government agencies played a role in controlling network resources in China,universities and social organizations in 2014-2016,universities and scientific research institutions in 2017-2019;the United States in 2010-In 2013,colleges and universities and social organizations played a controlling role in network resources.In 2014-2016,they were still colleges and social organizations.In 2017-2019,there were three types of institutions: government,colleges and social organizations.It shows that the types of discipline development institutions for medical informatics in China have all appeared,and the types of discipline development institutions for medical informatics in the United States are complete.Conclusion: Through a comparative analysis of the scientific research cooperation network of Chinese and American medical informatics institutions,it is found that in terms of the current situation of institutional scientific research cooperation,the number of academic cooperation institutions in the United States is significantly more than that in China,and the density of institutional cooperation and the degree of knowledge sharing are also higher than that in China.With the continuous development of the disciplines of the two countries,the level of knowledge exchange in China will become higher and higher,while that in the United States will gradually decrease.In terms of institutional scientific research cooperation topics,the research directions of Sino-US cooperation topics are roughly the same,but in terms of specific content,there is a certain gap between the depth and breadth of thematic research in China and the United States.In terms of the attributes of important institutions,through the study of the evolution of different stages,it can be seen that the knowledge production methods in China and the United States are different.In the early stage of disciplinary development,China was mainly guided by government policies,while the United States was an endogenous result of society;in addition,China is currently not fully developed The “triple helix” discipline construction system of China,but various institutions have appeared.In the future,with the continuous advancement of disciplinary research,China’s “triple helix” structure will gradually take shape,and the United States now has a complete “triple helix” discipline Build a system to promote disciplines to advance in the direction of promoting the informatization of the country’s medical and health services.
