| Objective:In order to provide clues for the diagnosis,prevention and treatment of rosacea,by investigating the clinical features and possible trigger or aggravating factors of rosacea patients in Yunnan area.Methods:A total of 295 patients with rosacea who visited the Dermatology Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University from June 2018 to June 2019 were enrolled.Statistical analyses included general demographic data,clinical manifestation,trigger or aggravating factors,comorbidities and previous treatment history which was collected in the form of questionaire.Results:Our study demonstrated that the ratio of male to female was 1.00:5.56.The mean age of patients was 35.55±11.69 years old,the age group of 20~50 years old accounted for 83.39%,the mean age of onset was 30.26±10.54 years old,the median course of disease was 36 months.The common skin lesions were fixed centrofacial erythema accounted for 91.53%,transient flushing accounted for 91.19%,followed by telangiectasia(78.31%),papules or pustule(48.47%)and phymatous changes(9.49%),respectively.Male patients with papules or pustules and phymatous changes were more common than that in female patients,the differences is statitically significant(P<0.05).The location involved were mainly the cheek(92.54%),nose(81.02%),perioral area(58.98%)and forehead(50.85%).ETR patients have a higher proportion of cheek involved,while PhR patients have a higher proportion of nose involved,there is a statistical difference(P<0.05).Burning(91.86%),dryness(87.80%)and itching(73.56%)were the common symptoms.Female were more likely to experience moderate to severe burning than male(P<0.05).The common trigger and aggravating factors were sun exposure(90.17%),followed by temperature change(86.10%),mental stress(72.88%),consumption of spicy food(61.69%),and seasonal change(57.97%).Patients can have systemic comorbidities,among which 9 with hypertension,five with thyroid diseases,and 4 with autoimmune diseases etc.One hundred and seventeen patients have receieved topical treatment,among which 64 patients once used topical glucocorticosteroid.Conclusions:Rosacea is more common in patients aged 20~50 years,and the proportion of female is higher than male.The most common skin lesions are fixed centrofacial erythema,transient flushing,telangiectasia,etc.The location of skin lesions were mainly the cheeks,nose,perioral area.Burning,dryness,itching were the main symptom.Sun exposure,temperature change,mental stress are important trigger or aggravating factors.It is of great significance to avoid these trigger or aggravating factors in the prevention and treatment of this disease.Rosacea can co-occur with other systemic diseases and should not be ignored.The use of topical glucocorticosteroid ointment is not rare.Therefore,the understanding of the disease should be strengthened. |
