Clinical Observation On Treating Allergic Rhinitis Of Kidney Yang Deficiency Type By Moxibustion On Umbilicus With Herbs

Objective: To compare the clinical efficacy of Moxibustion on umbilicus with herbs and conventional acupuncture on allergic rhinitis of kidney yang deficiency type.Methods: Sixty patients with allergic rhinitis of kidney yang deficiency type were randomly divided into Moxibustion on umbilicus with herbs group and acupuncture group,30 cases in each group.By observing the total clinical efficacy,clinical symptoms and signs score,kidney yang deficiency syndrome score,quality of life score of nasal conjunctivitis and clinical efficacy at follow-up,the difference of efficacy between the two groups was compared.Results:(1)After treatment,the total clinical efficacy of the moxibustion group was better than than those in the acupuncture group(P<0.05);After treatment,the total scores of sneezing,runny nose,symptoms and signs in the two groups were significantly lower than those before treatment(P<0.01),and the curative effect in the moxibustion on umbilicus with herbs group was better than that in the acupuncture group(P<0.05).In the aspects of nasal congestion,nasal itching,eye itching and signs,the two groups were significantly lower than before treatment(P<0.01),and there was no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).(2)After treatment,the score of kidney yang deficiency syndrome in the two groups was significantly lower than that before treatment(P<0.01),and the curative effect in the moxibustion on umbilicus with herbs group was better than that in the acupuncture group(P<0.05).(3)After treatment,the quality of life score of nasal conjunctivitis of the two groups were significantly lower than those before treatment(P<0.01),and the curative effect in the moxibustion on umbilicus with herbs group was better than that in the acupuncture group(P<0.05).(4)At the follow-up of 3 months after treatment,the long-term efficacy of the moxibustion on umbilicus with herbs group were better than those of the acupuncture group(P<0.05).Conclusion: The clinical effect of moxibustion on umbilicus with herbs in the treatment of allergic rhinitis of kidney yang deficiency type is better than that of conventional acupuncture.
