Clinical Study Of Treating The Kidney-Yang Deficiency Type Of Allergic Rhinitis By Salt Separated Moxibustion On Shen Que Acupoint Combined With Acupuncture

ObjectiveThis research observed the Clinical efficacy of treating the Yang-kidney deficiency type of allergic rhinitis by salt separated moxibustion on shenque acupoint combined with acupuncture, and compared with acupuncture. In order to discuss the mechanism of salt separated moxibution on shenque acupoint combined with acupuncture and explore effective and lasting effective treatments of allergic rhinitis. So doctors could make better clinical services and greater ease patients’ suffering.MethodsFollowing the evidence-based medical principles, clinical epidemiology, sixty patients who met the criteria of the kidney-Yang deficiency type of allergic rhinitis were included in the study. They were randomized into salt separated moxibustion group and acupuncture group. Patients of the salt separated moxibustion group took the treatment by salt separated moxibustion on shenque acupoint and acupuncture, and patients of the control group just took acupuncture. Both of them were treated for 2 weeks. we requested the patients to complete the allergic rhinitis curative effect evaluation table and the RQLQ before and after the research. Compared the effect we observed, we established database for statistical analysis, and eventually summarize a conclusion.Result1.Two groups of patients before the treatment in general information such as gender, age, duration, had no statistically difference on efficacy scores and RQLQ scores (P>0.05), and were comparable. Through treating, the effective, efficient and inefficient of the salt separated moxibustion group are respectively 63.3%(19/30),26.7%(8/30), and 10%(3/30). In acupuncture group, they are respectively 46.7%(14/30),40%(12/30), and 13.3%(4/30). So we could not consider that the treatment of salt separated moxibustion is better. Four weeks later, the effective, efficient and inefficient of the salt separated moxibustion group are respectively 53.3%(16/30),30%(9/30), and 16.7%(5/30), and the acupuncture group is 20%(6/30),56.7%(17/30), and 23.3%(7/30). According to analysis, it showed the clinical evaluation had statistical significance (P=0.025). So we can considered that the clinical evaluation in the treatment group is superior to the control group.2. After treatment, The RQLQ scores of both groups in all aspects better than before (P<0.05). Between the treatments, the improvements of salt separated moxibustion group are superior in sleep, Non-nasal/ocular symptoms and emotion than the acupuncture group (P<0.05).ConclusionThrough this study, we found the salt moxibustion on shen Que acupoint combined with acupuncture is effective. Its long-term effect of allergic rhinitis and the improvements of patient quality of life are superior to conventional acupuncture. respectively 63.3%(19/30),26.7%(8/30), and 10%(3/30).
