Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of Diaoxuan prescription in the intervention of senile hypertension patients with wind Yang disturbance syndrome, and scientifically and objectively evaluate its safety and effectiveness,so as to add new clinical basis for the further treatment of senile hypertension with traditional Chinese medicine. Methods: In this study,72 elderly subjects with wind-yang disturbance syndrome of hypertension who met the inclusion criteria were collected and divided into treatment and control groups according to the randomized control method. Both groups were treated with irbesartan tablets as the basis for antihypertensive therapy. If the blood pressure measured on the 7th day was not up to the standard(SBP≥150mm Hg and/or DBP≥90mm Hg),they were combined with nifedipine controlled-release tablets. The control group was treated with basic treatment + blank control, and the treatment group was treated with basic treatment +Diaoxuan prescription. The course of treatment for both groups was 14 days. The changes of blood pressure, ambulatory blood pressure,TCM syndrome and other related indexes before and after treatment were observed between the two groups. The data were recorded, collated and statistically analyzed to objectively evaluate the clinical effect of Diaoxuan prescription in the treatment of senile hypertension wind Yang disturbance syndrome.Results:1.Comparison of clinic blood pressure: the antihypertensive effective rate of the treatment group was 90%,and that of the control group was 73%.Both treatments were effective in lowering blood pressure levels. There was statistical difference in the comparison data between groups(P < 0.05),and the antihypertensive effect of the treatment group was better than that of the control group.2.Comparison of ambulatory blood pressure: After treatment, there were statistically significant differences in 24 hours mean systolic/diastolic blood pressure, daytime mean systolic/diastolic blood pressure, and night mean systolic/diastolic blood pressure between the two groups(P < 0.05).The antihypertensive effect of treatment group was better than that of control group.3.TCM syndrome integral comparison: Comparison between groups after treatment, the single primary symptom in TCM syndrome integral(dizziness, headaches and distension),and secondary symptoms(irritability, insomnia, tinnitus, red face and eyes, numbness),through the data analysis with statistical significance(P < 0.05),but there was no significant difference in relieving secondary symptoms(tremor)(P > 0.05).The reduction degree of primary symptom score, secondary symptom score and total score in the treatment group was higher than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.01).In the aspect of improving TCM syndrome, the treatment group was better than the control group. Conclusion: Diaoxuan prescription combined with western medicine in the treatment of senile hypertension with disturbance of wind and Yang is superior to western medicine alone in the stable lowering of blood pressure and relieving symptoms of TCM.There is no adverse reaction, and the clinical effect is obvious, which has a certain value of promotion and application.
