Medical Staff’s Role Stress And Defensive Medical Behavior

IntroductionMedical staff are both professional and technical groups,which have received wide attention from public.At the same time,they also bear the expectation of roles from work,family,society and other aspects.This makes medical staff have a heavy role pressure in the rapid economic development and complex medical environment,which leads to the frequent occurrence of defensive medical behavior among medical staff.Defensive medical behavior means careful,passive and avoidant diagnostic and therapeutic actions were adopted.Overall,the purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between role stress and defensive medical behavior.And in this process,the forgiveness trait of the medical staff will have an impact on the relationship between role stress and defensive medical behavior.Therefore,this study chooses forgiveness as a moderator variable to explore the above mentioned relationship.MethodsIn this study,a convenient sampling questionnaire was used.The object of study is medical staff,including three kinds of medical employees from 18 provinces and cities such as Henan,Jiangsu,Shandong and Hubei,namely doctors,nurses and medical personnel.In this study,550 questionnaires were distributed,430 valid questionnaires were valid,the effective rate was 78%.In this study,independent sample t test,one-way ANOVA,correlation analysis,regression analysis,moderating effect test and other statistical analysis methods were used.Results&Conclusions(1)The role stress level of medical staff is higher than the median,the forgiveness level is higher than the median,and the defensive medical behavior is higher than the median.(2)The role stress,forgiveness and defensive medical behavior of medical staff have significant differences in some demographic variables.(3)The role stress and forgiveness of medical staff have significant effects on defensive medical behavior,and they all have significant predictive effects on defensive medical behavior.The role stress of medical staff was positively correlated with defensive medical behavior,negatively correlated with forgiveness,and negatively correlated with defensive medical behavior.(4)Forgiveness plays a moderating role between role stress and defensive medical behavior.Generally speaking,the role stress of medical staff has a positive impact on defensive medical behavior,and the personal forgiveness trait of medical staff will have a moderating effect on the relationship between role stress and defensive medical behavior.
