ObjectiveTo explore the clinical comprehensive effect of floating needle therapy on upper extremity spasm after stroke,in order to find a simple, quick and safe method to treat this disease.MethodsSixty-six patients with spasticity of upper extremity after apoplexy were divided into two groups by random number table method, each group has 33 cases, the treatment group(floating needle group)and the control group(conventional acupuncture group). Both groups were given routine medicine an d rehabilitation training, after stroke. In the treatment group, both the meridians and collaterals of the Yin meridian or Yangming Meridian of the upper limb and the starting and ending points of the flexor muscle group were selected as the target points, and the floating needle therapy was carried out with the tip of the needle aiming at the target points, and the active or passive movement of the affected limb was cooperated in the treatment process;in the control group, routine acupuncture therapy was carried out;The treatment time of the two groups was once a day, five days a week, four weeks a course. Before and after the treatment, the muscle tension level, modified Ashworth(MAS),flug Meyer upper extremity motor function(FAM),and modified Barthel Index(MBI)of daily living ability were recorded, and the clinical effects of the two groups were compared and analyzed with the relevant statistical methods.ResultsThere were 66 cases in this study,In the course of treatment,1 case in the treatment group and 2 cases in the control group were fell off;(1)Baseline comparison:before treatment, the gender of patients in the floating needle group and conventional acupuncture group was tested by χ2 tests, and the age and course of disease were tested by independent sample t test,P>0.05,so there was no significant difference in gender, age, course of disease between the two groups, which did not affect the experimental results.(2)Comparison of clinical effects:① after statistical analysis, the scores of MAS,FAM and MBI of Patients in the floating needle group and conventional acupuncture group were all greater than 0.05,therefore,in the above comparison, the former is similar to the latter;② The above scores of the two groups before and after treatment were analyzed by paired sample t-test,P value was less than 0.05,that is to say, there were significant differences between the two groups;③ After treatment, the floating needle group and conventional acupuncture group, the scores of MAS,FAM(upper extremity),MBI,etc. Both groups were analyzed by independent sample t-test,P value was less than 0.05,so there was a big gap between the two groups after treatment;④ the effective rate in the treatment of floating needle group was 84.375%,the other group was 74.194%,and the difference was statistically significant by rank sum test analysis.ConclusionThe Floating needle is better than the conventional acupuncture in reducing the muscle tension, improving the motor function of the upper extremity, and improving the ability of daily life, and the total clinical efficiency of the former is higher than that of the latter. This study not only follows the myofascial theory of the floating needle therapy theory, but also combines the traditional acupuncture meridian theory and the modern muscle anatomical function, and has achieved good results. Moreover, the floating needle has the advantages of rapid onset, simple and convenient operation, good effect, and good menstruation. It has the advantages of safety and no adverse reactions. It is worth popularizing in clinical practice.
