| In recent years,the country have made many explorations on the road of poverty alleviation.Under the strong call and active guidance of government policies,Chinese enterprises have regarded the implementation of targeted poverty alleviation as an important way to fulfill their social responsibilities.Due to the nature of property rights,SOEs bear more corporate social responsibilities and play a leading role in the fulfillment of targeted poverty alleviation responsibilities.At present,more and more private enterprises begin to participate in the implementation of targeted poverty alleviation policies.Compared with state-owned enterprises,private enterprises are large in number and have diversified backgrounds,so they have more initiative in implementing targeted poverty alleviation policies.Therefore,the research on the motivation and mode of private enterprises’ participation in targeted poverty alleviation is helpful to stimulate and mobilize a wider range of forces to participate inthe great cause of poverty alleviation and sustainable poverty reduction.Therefore,this paper explores the mode and motivation of private enterprises’ participation in targeted poverty alleviationBased on the cases of Muyuan and Wens,this paper explores the motivation and mode of private enterprises’ participation in targeted poverty alleviation.First of all,the model of private enterprises participating in targeted poverty alleviation is summarized.Secondly,the motivation of enterprises participating in targeted poverty alleviation is explored.This paper discusses the founder’s background,winning the trust and support of the government and winning the trust and support of stakeholders Then,it explores the economic consequences of enterprises’ participation in targeted poverty alleviation.This paper analyzes the promoting effect of the two case companies’ participation in targeted poverty alleviation on their access to government resources and the alleviating effect of financing pressure.Finally,this paper discusses the practical significance of this paper from the perspectives of policy makers and private enterprises.This paper adopts double case study method to analyze the research contents in depth.The case study method is based on the real situation of enterprises in the real world,which is easy to summarize the causes and consequences and conduct in-depth research.At the same time,the case study method is also suitable for the study of emerging issues,policies and phenomena.So far,only a handful of literature discusses enterprise precision by using the method of empirical study motive for poverty alleviation,but large sample empirical study hard to the private enterprises,motivation and effect of the mode of poverty alleviation in detailed observation and systematic analysis.On the contrary,case study method can carry out targeted observations to make up for the shortcomings of large sample empirical research that is not in-depth and specific.Therefore,this paper uses the dual case study method to select two typical case enterprises,Muyuan and Wens,to explore the mode and motivation of private enterprises’ participation in targeted poverty alleviation.The two case companies are both private listed agricultural companies,and in recent years,they have adopted a variety of flexible modes to participate in targeted poverty alleviation,forming a typical experience and paradigm in targeted poverty alleviation action,which has certain enlightenment for mobilizing and guiding the majority of enterprises to participate in poverty alleviation.It is found in this paper that the two case enterprises mainly adopt the poverty alleviation model of industrial development,that is,by combining their own business with poverty alleviation work,they can help poor households out of poverty while promoting their own development.In the part of the motivation of participating in targeted poverty alleviation,this paper believes that both Muyuan and Wens participation in targeted poverty alleviation is influenced by the background characteristics of the founders,and has the motivation to win the trust and support of stakeholders.Meanwhile,the motivation of Muyuan’s participation in targeted poverty alleviation to win the trust and support of the government is more significant than that of Wen’s shares.Finally,this paper believes that participation in targeted poverty alleviation has a promoting effect on the two case enterprises to obtain government resource support,and in terms of alleviating financing pressure,participation in targeted poverty alleviation has a certain help on the alleviation of financing pressure of Muyuan shares,but this help is not so significant for Wens shares.This study fills a role in the lack of case studies on targeted poverty alleviation,provides reflection for enterprises and other groups currently participating in targeted poverty alleviation,and also provides reference for enterprises and other social groups considering participating in targeted poverty alleviation in the future,which has certain theoretical value.For policy makers and other private enterprises,this paper has some practical significance.First of all,for policy makers,this study provides support for in-depth summarizing the model and experience of enterprises’participation in poverty alleviation,discovering and digging credible,feasible and learnable typical cases,and mobilizing and guiding enterprises’ participation in poverty alleviation.Secondly,for other private enterprises,participating in targeted poverty alleviation can achieve a win-win situation with the poor households and make poverty alleviation by industry a feature.While helping the poor and fulfilling their social responsibilities,they will promote their own industrial development and reap economic and social benefits at the same time. |
