Abstract/Summary:
Nowadays,the urbanization process in China is still in a stage of rapid development,initiating an unceasing influx of population to large cities,which results in the progressive shortage of educational quota.However,land available for educational construction is draining evitably,intensifying the contradiction between insufficient educational land and land scarcity drastically.Concurrently,the monotonous and stubborn internal space design of the traditional schools no longer meets the demand of modern education,which calls for vitality,openness,and diversity.Accordingly,a new space design method,which offers a more comprehensive and flexible space use,is essential for the teaching building design of primary and secondary schools.The innovation of vertical space design has emerged as a breakthrough solution in primary and secondary schools,faced with the extrusion of various practical difficulties.Over the last few years,many exploration and practical projects have achieved significant outcomes in the vertical design of teaching buildings in primary and secondary schools,yet most of which exist in the form of isolated cases,a systematic summary is in need.In this thesis,a re-classification of the teaching building in primary and secondary schools with the method of "Studies of Architectural Composition" will be conducted,and a method system for parsing and designing the vertical space in primary and secondary school teaching buildings will be constructed.With each passing day,the teaching concept is rapidly changing,which makes the comprehension of the school building from the perspective of architectural composition vital for effectively break away from the shackles of function and respond to the change of educational concept with the essence of space.Chiefly,this thesis classifies individual spaces in teaching buildings and explores the compositional relationship between the spaces in the vertical direction from the perspective of architectural composition.Secondly,the thesis focuses on the factor of stand-alone building and discusses the trend and type of vertical space composition of single teaching buildings from the following three aspects: educational concept,internal space type,and external volume form.Thirdly,analyze the factors that influence the vertical space composition in primary and secondary schools in the following three aspects: building composition,site configuration,and urban environment,under the domination of building clusters and site features.Through the study of the vertical space composition type of the school building in elementary and middle schools and the analysis of the factors and characteristics of the composition,can obtain a systematic understanding and method to recognize the vertical space of the school building in elementary and middle schools.And based on the existing types,it could also promote the generation of new prototypes of teaching buildings.
