In recent years,the number of small and medium-sized cities with high-speed railway stations has climbed.High-speed railway stations simulate the development of small and medium-sized urban towns,and provides a good opportunity for those cities to expand their urban space and urban functions.Due to the limited of economic,population and other factors,the demand of residential area construction is great in small and medium-sized urban high-speed railway station area.In 2018,China’s government release the "urban residential planning and design standards",in which put forward new requirements of residential design.Under those circumstances,the study of residential urban design in high-speed railway station areas in small and medium-sized cities has strong practical and theoretical significance.Firstly,through literature research,this paper clarifies the difference between the urban design and the planning design of residential areas,find out the key point of urban design in the residential areas,and analyzes the urban spatial structure and urban forms of high-speed rail stations areas.Secondly,investigating and analyzing the built environment of high-speed railway station area in small and medium-sized cities,summarizes the positioning of residential area in the construction of urban spatial structure.analyze the morphological characteristics of service facilities and the morphological characteristics of residential building,finds the problems in the built environment of high-speed railway station area,and points out the focus of the residential urban design of high-speed railway station areas.Finally,this paper puts forward the design strategy for the residential urban design such as integration of public space system,the spatial form of supporting facilities layout and the form of residential buildings,analyzes the restricted elements of urban design in residential areas.making quantitative analysis of the key problems of urban design in residential areas.Based on the research and analysis,carry out the residential urban design practice on the east side of The Maanshan east Station.This study combs the theory of residential urban design of high-speed railway station areas,analyzes and summarizes the practical characteristics of the built environment of residential areas in small and medium-sized high-speed railway station areas,uses targeted strategy to control the urban design of residential blocks around Maanshan high-speed railway station.
