Research And Application Of Regional Architectural Symbol System Of Shanxi Traditional Dwellings

With the development of the times,the trend of globalization is more and more obvious.Although in the wave of globalization,economy,politics,culture and other aspects have been rapid development,but on the other hand,the regional culture has also been a certain threat.China is a country rich in cultural resources,each region has its own unique regional culture.Shanxi has been known as the exterior and interior mountains and rivers since ancient times,where the colorful culture has been bred,and the traditional dwellings are the best carrier of its performance.But with the advancement of urbanization,traditional houses are in an extremely embarrassing position.How to pass on the traditional residential culture in the process of modernization has become an important topic of regional architectural creation.This paper takes the traditional dwellings in Shanxi as the research object,uses the methods of literature research,field research,case analysis,etc,analyzes the architectural characteristics of traditional dwellings from the perspective of semiotics,and classifies the architectural symbols according to Pierce’s Semiotics Theory,forming a unique architectural symbol system in Shanxi,combining with the background,principles and application of contemporary architectural design Methods to explore the application of Shanxi traditional residential architectural symbols in modern design,and provide reference for the inheritance and development of Shanxi traditional residential culture.The first part of this paper starts from the research background,combined with the application research of Shanxi traditional residential and architectural semiotics,summarizes the relevant domestic and foreign reviews,selects the research object,determines the research content and paper framework,and finally extracts the innovation of the paper.The second part is an overview of semiotic theory.By expounding the meaning,function and characteristics of symbols,semiotics is connected with architecture,which leads to the theory of architectural semiotics,and finally selects pierce semiotics theory as the theoretical basis for summarizing architectural symbols.The third part analyzes and summarizes the traditional residential building symbol system in Shanxi.First of all,taking the natural and human characteristics as the breakthrough point,this paper summarizes the climate,terrain and history of five areas in Shanxi,which paves the way for the later discussion on the architectural symbols of traditional dwellings in Shanxi.Then from the courtyard form,space form,facade features and roof form and other aspects of Shanxi traditional residential building symbols are analyzed and extracted,and combined with the relevant semiotics theory,it is concluded and summarized,finally forming a unique architectural symbol system in Shanxi.The fourth part explores the application of Shanxi traditional residential architectural symbols in contemporary architectural design.Through the combination of contemporary architectural design principles and the application of architectural symbols,a new deductive way of Shanxi traditional residential architectural symbols is formed.The fifth part summarizes the regional architectural symbol system of Shanxi traditional dwellings and its application,and puts forward the shortcomings and prospects.
