Work and family are two basic units in people’s daily life.Individuals change their roles and identities frequently between work and family every day to meet the needs of different roles.Individuals are often at a loss when they have to meet both work and family needs.Work-family conflicts are caused by conflicting roles between work and family.Research had shown that work-family conflicts have a negative impact on employees’ physical and mental health,work status and family relationships,which is not conducive to the development of enterprises and the harmony of individual family.The nuclear power project has the characteristics of complicated construction technology,tight construction period,complicated working environment,strict quality and safety requirements,remote project location,most project managers are far away from the family and so on.Moreover,nuclear power project managers have the professional characteristics of high labor intensity,high risk and high work pressure.On the one hand,they have to undertake heavy construction management tasks,on the other hand,they generally lack the daily responsibility of caring for the family.This situation leads to the conflict between work and family roles,and work-family conflicts will seriously affect the enthusiasm of the work and the harmony of the family.At present,the research on work-family conflicts in the construction industry are basically based on foreign theories and models.However,the analysis and research combined with the social development and the cultural concepts of china are rare.At the same time,there are few studies focusing on the work-family conflicts and influences of construction industry managers whether in China or abroad.The research on work-family conflicts of nuclear power project managers is totally a blank field.This paper takes the Managers of five EPC nuclear power construction projects in China as the research object.225 valid questionnaires were obtained through the questionnaire survey.The data obtained was then statistically analyzed by using AMOS software.By establishing a structural equation model with good fit through a series of processes such as reliability test and confirmatory factor analysis,the significant influencing factors of the work-family conflicts of nuclear power project manager and their influence paths and strengths were obtained and analyzed.At last,basing on the research results,this paper proposed corresponding solutions and measures for the work-family conflicts of nuclear power project managers in order to help nuclear power project managers to adjust the relationship between work and family better,promote the physical and mental health of employees,improve work efficiency and business efficiency,and finally to make personal and organizational achieve mutual benefit,to balance and promote work and family.
