Unit system is a unique social organization mode in the period of planned economy in China.The construction of unit system community is an important historical stage in the development of urban space in China.After the implementation of the socialist market economy in the reform and opening up,the unit system began to collapse,and the unit system community also faced the transformation and community renewal.In recent years,with the deepening of reform and the transfer of functions of state-owned enterprises and institutions,the removal of unit people and the inflow of foreign population,the internal problems of the unit system community in the transformation are constantly emerging,and the architectural limitations of the original community center function of the unit system are gradually highlighted.With the unit system community moving towards modern community,the architectural space which undertakes the function of community center can no longer meet the needs of the current community residents.There are many problems,such as strong administrative attribute,scattered functional allocation,serious exclusion of the original unit people and so on.On the one hand,these problems arise from the inherent problems of the decades of development history of the unit system;on the other hand,they arise from the integration barriers of the heterogeneous residential structure under the background of the transformation of the unit system.Therefore,from the perspective of architectural space and residents’ needs,it is of great significance to study the transformation strategy of unit community center.In this context,this paper selects the typical "Daqing style" unit system community in North China,Xinxiang base of North China Petroleum Bureau,which was formed during the period of the oil war,and takes the unit club which used to undertake the function of community center as the transformation research object,focusing on the transformation of the architectural space of the community center and the use needs of the residents under the background of the renewal of the unit system community,combined with the relevant facilities According to the conditions and transformation cases,this paper analyzes and designs the transformation,and summarizes the corresponding transformation design principles and strategies,so as to provide reference for the transformation of such unit system community center.The article is divided into six chapters.The first chapter defines the research background,the origin of the design,the transformation object,the design purpose and significance.The second chapter gives an overview of the background of the renovation design.By summarizing the current development status,spatial characteristics and old building status of the unit community,the paper investigates and analyzes the development process of Xinxiang base of North China Petroleum Bureau and the building status of the club,summarizes the problems existing in the community renewal and the value and spatial adaptability of the club transformation into a community center,and improves the design basis Finally,the problems faced by the transformation are put forward.The third chapter establishes the idea of transformation design,studies the transformation and demand of unit system community center from three aspects of function nature,function demand and construction standard,analyzes the behavior characteristics and demand differences of community residents in Xinxiang base of North China Petroleum Bureau combined with field investigation,and establishes the transformation mode of club combined with excellent practice cases.Based on the research and analysis of the above chapters,the fourth chapter designs the transformation of the community center of Xinxiang base of North China Petroleum Bureau,completes the design results and analyzes the transformation process.The fifth chapter is the strategy summary.Through the basic research and transformation design results of the above chapters,it puts forward the transformation principles of the unit system community center,and summarizes the specific transformation strategies for the functional layout,space construction and place memory of the community center.The sixth chapter summarizes the full text,sorts out the main results of the article,summarizes the limitations of the research and puts forward the further research direction.
