Since the reform and opening up,China’s urbanization process has entered the mid to late stage after rapid development,and the mode of city construction has also transferred from the traditional large-scale construction to the structural optimization and quality improvement.The public area of city blocks,as an important place of people’s daily life,offering the space for communication,rest,entertainment,viewing and so on.However,the facilities and environment of old blocks not being able to satisfied the demand of modern life has became a serious issue.At the same time,the industrial structure is also changing with the development of cities,some traditional industrial areas have gradually declined or moved to the edge of the city;those remaining factory areas in the city gradually run-down,circled by the residential and commercial districts built in the later stage.Therefore,how to arouse the vitality of those kindl block through the means of urban renewal has become an important topic in the current urban construction.Taking the urban design of Chuxiong jinwugu district as an example,through the methodology of social network theory,this thesis makes an in-depth investigation and Analysis on the social network,public space network and public behavior network of jinwugu district,evaluates the current network characteristics through quantitative data,and come up with the strategies of optimization.Based on this,the thesis provides adaptive organic renewal design for the old factory areas,and attempts to carry out integrated planning and urban design for this studied area thtouhg spatial network reconstruction,behavior network regeneration,spatial function integration and spatial environment construction.
