There are a total of 12 educational buildings in the 133 excellent historical buildings published in Xi’an,of which 8 are the main teaching buildings.The main teaching buildings not only carry the history of higher education schools,but are also witnesses to the development of colleges and universities.The main teaching building of colleges and universities undertakes most of the functional requirements of the course teaching and student activities in colleges and universities.The research of this kind of building can not only obtain a large amount of historical and cultural information about the development of the school,but also is a substantial space for generations of students to recall together.At the beginning of its establishment,Chang’an University has continuously provided professionals in the fields of highways,road construction and automobiles to the country.It is also one of the first schools in Xi’an to accept foreign students.The architectural design of the Chang’an University main teaching building has the same period.The architectural plan and facade features of the teaching building are combined with the modernist style.It is the only asymmetrical and free-plan historical building in the historical building of the main teaching building of Xi’an colleges and universities.There are a large number of architectural decoration components inside and outside the building that highlight the characteristics of its campus and disciplines.At the same time,the historical architectural design style is typical and possesses the self-attribution of Chang’an University’s special characteristics.Based on the historical development characteristics of the Chang’an University main teaching building and the characteristics of architectural space and architectural modeling design,this paper launches a research on the protection strategy of the historical building of the Chang’an University main teaching building.This paper collects and sorts out the background overview,basic characteristics of the historical buildings of the main teaching building of Xi’an universities,and the more mature protection measures of the historical buildings of universities applied in Xi’an to provide ideas and references for the research on related protection strategies of the Chang’an University main teaching building.Through actual investigations and cooperation with Chang’an University,the author obtained the background overview of the Chang’an University main teaching building and the building information of different periods during its use.After having a basic understanding of the target building,this article started from the historical building of the building.In-depth research has been carried out in two aspects of style and space use,including the layout characteristics of the building and the external environment,the facade layout of the building and the artistic decoration in the building,the analysis of the current status of the functional zoning of the building,the analysis of the typical space under different functions,and the difference Analysis of the relationship between a typical space and its external space,and based on the results of the research and analysis,corresponding strategies and suggestions for these two aspects are proposed,including the protection and activation of the external environment,the adaptive protection of building facades,the protection and activation of architectural art decoration components,and the interior The reorganization of space functions,the activation of space under each functional zone,and the optimization and adjustment of the relationship between typical spaces and their external spaces ensure the effective use of architectural space on the basis of continuation of the traditional architectural style.Combining the basic characteristics of the historical buildings of the main teaching building of Xi’an universities and the typicality and particularity in the research process of the Chang’an University main teaching building,this article finally proposes to extend the research ideas on the protection of the historical buildings of the Chang’an University main teaching building to the protection of the historical buildings of the main teaching building of Xi’an universities The work aims to ensure the effective use of buildings and their spaces on the basis of continuation of the traditional architectural style,satisfying the establishment of responsible institutions,the mastery of basic building information,the recognition of building values and key protection elements,the investigation and investigation of the current situation of building functions and spaces There are six steps of analysis,proposal of corresponding
