| Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology(referred to as "Xi’an Arch Tech")Yan’ta Campus,consisting of the main teaching building,teaching east building,and teaching west building,was designated as an outstanding modern architecture by the Xi’an Municipal Government in 2016 and officially recognized as a historical building of Xi’an in 2021.Xi’an Arch Tech is one of the renowned "Eight Architectural Universities" in China with a long history.The architectural complex of Xi’an Arch Tech stands out due to its combination of Soviet and traditional Chinese architectural styles,making it a typical representation of the universities built in Xi’an during the same period.It possesses both common features shared with other universities in Xi’an and unique characteristics that are exclusive to Xi’an Arch Tech.This paper focuses on the historical architectural complex of Xi’an Arch Tech and examines the protection and utilization of historical buildings within the campus.It explores the core question of how to properly protect and utilize the historical architectural complex at Xi’an Arch Tech by identifying its similarities and differences with other contemporary universities in Xi’an.Through literature research,the study examines the campus development history,architectural evolution,and renovation process of Xi’an Arch Tech,uncovering the significant value represented by the historical architectural complex.Furthermore,on-site investigations identify and summarize the practical issues faced by the main architectural complex and its surrounding historical environment,leading to the exploration of the values embodied by various elements.Finally,specific protection measures are formulated based on the identified practical issues.This thesis aims to provide references and reasonable protection measures for the preservation and utilization strategies of historical buildings in other relevant universities through the research on the protection and utilization strategies of the historical architectural complex at Xi’an Arch Tech.Moreover,it hopes to raise awareness among both the actual users of the buildings and the general public about the importance of historical buildings in terms of campus culture,urban context,and social memory.This recognition will facilitate the proper and effective protection of these historical buildings,allowing them to fulfill their practical value in education and nurturing individuals. |
