Research On The Construction Techniques Of Local Dwellings In Hetao Area Of Inner Mongolia

Hetao area of Inner Mongolia is located on the Yellow River of the central plateau of Inner Mongolia,where the existence of residential houses has a long history.In the late Ming and early Qing Dynasty,the mainland began to emigrate to Hetao area on a large scale,which brought the construction technology and culture of the houses in the mainland.Influenced by local natural environment and cultural factors,the immigrants will have a regionalization process when building houses in the area,which makes the development of local houses in Hetao District of Inner Mongolia take off the development of the local houses in the mainland and have their own characteristics.The article studies the construction skills of local houses,and the inheritance of the construction techniques in this area is facing great challenges.On the one hand,with the continuous progress of urban-rural integration,the large-scale demolition and construction of local residential buildings has led to the continuous reduction of its number,and the existing preservation situation is also worrying.There are also problems in the traditional inheritance mechanism of the construction techniques on the other side.At present,traditional craftsmen are old and young people in the local area don’t want to take craftsmen as their own profession for economic reasons.The research on the construction technology of local folk houses in this area is based on the local natural conditions and historical culture,and explores the factors of the formation of the construction techniques.Through the investigation of the villages in Hetao area of Inner Mongolia,the paper summarizes the morphological characteristics of the local settlements,which are mainly divided into centralized and decentralized.Then,the composition and layout of local courtyard,the types and development of residential buildings are analyzed.Visiting the old craftsmen in the area,they recorded their skills and experiences in building houses through field interviews.The article mainly explains the construction techniques of local folk houses in Hetao area of Inner Mongolia from the construction process,personnel organization,tools,technology inheritance and construction methods.Then,the construction wisdom of the region is summarized,and the analysis is made from the local materials,climate adaptability,reasonable collocation of building materials and low-tech strategies.Finally,the paper puts forward some strategies for the protection and inheritance of the traditional construction techniques in the region.
