Research On The Renewal Of Chengdu Old Community Public Space From The Perspective Of POE

In the wave of urban renewal,the community is the basic unit of the city and the basis of urban organic renewal.Limited to construction level and age conditions,old communities no longer meet the requirements of urban development,and the public spaces of old communities can no longer meet the diverse needs of contemporary people.Therefore,improving the external environment of old communities and optimizing the experience of residents’ activities are urban renewal and development Necessary link.The study takes the public space of Chengdu Yulin community as the research object,and uses the street space,square space and garden space as sample units.Collecting demographics,behavior patterns,and public space usage of residents in old communities through Questionnaire Survey and Behavior Mapping,and then it analyzes the satisfaction evaluation of public space and the behavior pattern of residents from two perspectives: qualitative and quantitative.First of all,,outline the composition characteristics of residents in old communities from the four levels of age,gender,education,and occupation.Second,extract environmental factors of public space based on questionnaire data,and then perform satisfaction and importance analysis on the environmental elements of the sample space.The IPA grid chart presents the evaluation results.Finally,statistical software was used to analyze the behavior record data,and the behavior patterns of residents in different populations,time and space were discussed,providing theoretical support for the proposed update strategy.The analysis results show that the main groups using public space are young and middle-aged people and the elderly.The gender ratio is balanced,the overall education level is low,and there are many retirees.The length of stay is mainly from30 minutes to 1.5 hours.Social activities are the mainstream choice in public spaces,and more than two-thirds of residents choose to participate.Four types of factors were extracted,including "public facility type","artificial landscape type","plant landscape type" and "spatial base type".The weight distribution among the factors was balanced.Among them,"public facility type" attracted the most attention.On this basis,the public space renewal plan of Yulin Community was completed.The above research content mainly enriches the theoretical research of public spaces in old communities from the perspective of POE,and provides practical strategic guidance for the renovation and construction of public spaces in old communities in Chengdu,and provides support for improving the living environment of old communities.
