Basic Research Of Post Occupancy Evaluation(POE)of Public Space Of General Hospital

The hospital building, as the space carrier for the patients to see a doctor, is an important part for the hospital. Humanized design of the hospital building is more significant to improve the efficiency of medical treatment, ease the psychological barriers, etc. However, it has been exposed a lot of problem in humanized design of a hospital building.We introduce the background, significance, objectives and methods of this research, and determine the goals in the first chapter. In the second chapter, according to the domestic and abroad development trend of hospital architecture and environmental behavior science, we proposed the hospital building evaluation standard which is based on the environmental behavior science. The third part demonstrates how to establish an evaluation framework based on environmental behavior in hospital architecture, and the design of a questionnaire. In the last chapter, four new hospitals were chosen as an example to discuss their public space. One of the goals is to objectively compare and evaluate the design parameter. On the other hand, the questionnaire was carried out to perform the subjective research. Upon the comparison of the design parameter analysis and questionnaire analysis, it’s reasonable to conclude that the evaluation model offers a best direction for the designing of hospital public space.We hope that this evaluation standard can be treated as a reference for evaluating an old hospital public space and offer an experience for building a new hospital.
