For tackling and coping with the challenges of the emerging scientific and technical revolution proactively,Chinese government has already carried out a lot of national strategies,such as “Made in China 2025” and so on.China’s State Council unveiled its first 10-year national plan for transforming China’s manufacturing entitled “Made in China 2025”.At the same time,Hubei Provincial Government according to the “Made in China 2025” policy and the actual situation of Hubei local industries,put out “Made in China 2025 Hubei Provincial Action Outline”,and“13th Five-Year Develop Plan of Hubei Province.” Accordingly,in response to the national strategy of "Made in China 2025",the Ministry of Education has actively promoted the construction of Emerging Engineering Education,and held a series of meetings to discuss the construction of it.In the face of the implementation of the national strategy for the development of manufacturing industry,the new demand and situation of industrial economic development in Hubei province,and the calling of the Ministry of Education for the development of Emerging Engineering Education,where should Hubei’s higher engineering education go?Therefore,how to explore the engineering profession that not only promotes the local industrial economic development of Hubei Province but also conforms to the law of engineering personnel training has become a new subject to test the wisdom of the government and academic circles.The research object of this paper is the construction of engineering major under the background of new economy and new industry development in Hubei Province.Based on the theory of Higher Education Adaptation theory,Human Capital theory and Process Re-engineering theory,this paper sorts out the concepts of professional construction,new engineering and industry.On this basis,the relevant mechanism of action and existing research results are used to explore the construction of new engineering majors that serve the local industrial economic development in Hubei.This paper uses the survey method to collect relevant economic data of Hubei Province,such as: 2008-2017 Hubei Province main agricultural and industrial product output,2008-2017 Hubei Province three major industries this year actual value,2010-2019 Hubei Province automobile production(cumulative Growth),Hubei Province,new energy vehicle production(cumulative growth)and other relevant economic data,analysis of its size,quantity,degree and trend,revealing its internal relationship with engineering education.Using case study and demonstration research methods,taking Hubei auto industry as an example,the historical review and status quo of Hubei auto industry will be reviewed,the new trend of Hubei industrial development will be found out,and the new requirements for engineering talents will be found out.Using the process reengineering theory,the “new engineering” industry process is analyzed,and on the basis of this theory,combined with the new process of engineering industry work under the new environment,creatively construct the “new engineering” professional construction proposal to meet the needs of the industry.
