Research On Mongolian Traditional Saddle Design Of Xilingol Area

The grasslands people have a long history of using saddles.After continuous evolution,the existing traditional design of Mongolian saddles formed.As one of the representatives of the nomadic people’s fine traditional culture,these traditional saddles embody superb production skills and unique aesthetic taste of the people with its reasonable structure and exquisite decoration.They are the perfect unity of content and form,function and decoration,making them have relatively high research values.Xilin Gol League,one of the birthplaces of Mongolian traditional culture,was once an important place on the ancient Silk Road.It was influenced by many cultures,so it has typical Mongolian traditional cultural traits.The saddles produced and used here are exquisitely crafted and beautifully decorated and they serve as an important representative of Mongolian traditional saddle making skills.After reviewing detailed documents,classics and archaeological data,field investigation and research on Xilin Gol League Mongolian traditional saddles are conducted.From the perspective of the inheritance of excellent ethnic traditional craftsmanship,this study uses methods like literature research,field investigation and comparative research to investigate and analyze Xilin Gol League Mongolian traditional saddle production skills,design culture and characteristics as well as its inheritance.Based on the in-depth field investigation and analysis,new ideas and suggestions for the protection and inheritance of the existing Mongolian traditional saddles are put forward in this paper.
