Lean production is a philosophy and method that emphasizes elimination of waste, continuous optimization and improvement. It contains a series of principles and practices to reduce costs by eliminating waste and simplifying processes.Lean thinking is not limited to manufacturing.Scholars have extended the lean production method to all fields, especially the tertiary industry. The effective application of lean thinking in the tertiary industry can further eliminate waste, reduce costs, improve operating efficiency and work quality of enterprises.Along with the development of air transport, the threat of terrorism to the civil aviation industry has increased,in response to terrorism, security check technology arose at the historic moment, but it had little development over the years, the working process and technology have no obvious progress,security-check mode of most domestic airports is relatively single, among them, the SY airport’s passenger throughput has ranked the top25,but as a result of the small terminal area and lacking security channels,a variety of contradiction occurred between the current security-check mode and passenger demand, process optimization is imminent.Based on the analysis of the actuality, processes and existing problems of security checking at SY airport, this thesis lays down some specific measures of processes optimization, staffing, equipment updating and quality control, and gives suggestions on the implementation steps by using the value stream, eliminating waste and other lean concepts. This will improve the quality and efficiency of security checking at SY airport, and provide a train of thought of security processes optimization for the domestic large and medium-sized airport.
