Magnolia L.is an important landscaping tree species and economic tree species,it has strong ecological,medicinal,industrial and timber value.The area of Baotianman area in Nanzhao(hereinafter referred to as Nanzhao County)is a concentrated distribution area of magnolia plants.In order to find out the current status of the magnolia plant resources in Baotianman area,to strengthen the sustainable application of magnolia plant resources and the protection,identification and selection of new types of plants,this study selected Nanzhao County as the main location and comprehensively investigated this area.According to the survey results,based on 24 phenotypic traits,the genetic diversity analysis and comprehensive evaluation of the new types of magnolia plants found in the survey process were carried out,and 10 superior plants were preliminarily selected and their approximate single plants were found.The main findings are as follows:(1)Nanzhao County is rich in germplasm resources.After preliminary investigation,a total of 18 species of magnolia(including 12 cultivated introduced species),24 varieties,and 93 plants with new traits were recorded.This study expounds the application of magnolia resources from three aspects:the application of landscaping,bonsai and flower arrangement,and the application of special economic forests,and summarizes the different planting methods of magnolias in different garden types.(2)The 93 Magnolia plant resources have higher Shannon-Wiener index in 5 quality traits of leaf texture,leaf apex shape,sepal-shaped perianth color,flower color and stamen color,and 7 selected quantitative traits.It proves that the Magnolia plant resources investigated have rich genetic diversity.Correlation analysis shows that there is a certain correlation between the traits of Magnolia plant resources.The results of principal component analysis and R-type cluster analysis also show that it is difficult to identify Magnolia plant resources only by the change of a single trait.In the actual selection,the identification of variety resources and the selection of excellent germplasm should be combined with the performance of each plant tissue.(3)Through fuzzy membership function and standard deviation coefficient weighting method,93 Magnolia plant resources were comprehensively evaluated to"select the best among the best",and the top 10 plants were obtained.including 1 M.grandiflora,8 M.denudata(including 2 M.denudata 'Yudeng',1 M.denudata'banana'),1 M.cylindrica,which can be preliminarily recognized as excellent variety.Through the Q-type tree clustering diagram,this study verified the correctness of dividing the Magnolia into the Subgen.Yulania and Subgen.Magnolia,dividing the Subgen.Yulania into the Sect.Yulania,Sect.Tulipastrum and Sect.Buergeria.This study also selected the approximate strains of 10 excellent plants.
