Mount Kunyu belongs to the mountain range of Laoshan, which is located in the east of Jiaodong Peninsula in Shandong Province, adjacenting wendeng and linking to the Rushan mountain. There are vast peaks exceeding 500 meters above the sea-line.Taibo Peak is the highest peak which reaches 923 meters above sea level, and is known as the ridge of the Shandong Peninsula.Mount Kunyu is located in the northern warm temperate zone, with a total area of more than 71000 acres. It is a warm temperate monsoon climate with abundant rainfall. The rocks of Kunyu Mountain are most widely distributed in granite, with a small amount of gneiss and quartz porphyry. The soil type of Mount Kunyu is brown forest soil, which is acidic or slightly acidic.Due to a variety of comprehensive factors such as topography and climate,Mount Kunyu is rich in vegetation resources as well as relatively rich lichen species. In this study, more than 300 lichens specimens from Mount Kunyu collected through laboratory specimens and field collections, and the collection points were:Longxu Bridge,Jiulong Pool,Longwang Pavilion,Sanlong Pond,Taibo Peak,Forest Park,Xizhuang Village, etc.Specimens examined are deposited in SDNU(Lichen Section of Botanical Herbarium,Shandong Normal University). In this study,All specimens collected from Mount Kunyu were preliminarily identified using morphological, anatomical and chemical characters, and 106 species belonging to 41 genera,19 families,9 orders and three classes were found,of which one species suspected new to China: Pterygiopsis sp.1;one genus reported as new to China:Trimmatothelopsis versipellis;eight species reported as new to China: Verrucaria pachyderma,V.sublobulata,Sarcogyne privigna,Porina byssophila,Bacidia coprodes,Lecania olivacella,Lepraria finkii,Buellia nashii;60 species reported as new records to Shandong : Endocarpon petrolepideum,Thelidium minutulum,Verrucaria aethiobola,V.funckii,V.fuscella,Acarospora fuscata,A.glaucocarpa,A.smaragdula,A.verruculosa,Trapelia coarctata,Diploschistes scruposus,D.actinostomus,Graphis scripta,Porina guentheri,Aspicilia asiatica var asiatica f.irregularis,A.hoffmannii,A.mastoidea,Circinaria arida,C.contorta,Ochrolechia trochophora,Pertusaria remota,Cladonia deformis,C.ochrochlora,C.pachycladodes f.latissima,C.strepsilis,C.symphycarpia,Lecanora argentea,L.argopholis,L.fruticulosa,L.oreinoides,L.symmicta,L.polytropa,L.saligna,Lecidella enteroleucella,Canoparmelia amazonica,Myelochroa aurulenta,M.galbina,M.subaurulenta,Xanthoparmelia stenophylla,Ramalina obtusata,R.sinensis,Lepraria lobificans,L.neglecta,Dimelaena radiata,Buellia aethalea,B.badia,B.erubescens,B.punctata,B.subaethalea,B.subdisciformis,Phaeophyscia orbicularis,P.primaria,Physcia adscendens,P.caesia,Physciella melanchra,Physconia muscigena,Rinodina trevisanii,Caloplaca intrudens,Gyalolechia flavorubescens,G.flavovirescens,Porpidia carlottianThis study is the first investigation and research report on the diversity of lichen species in Mount Kunyu. It comprehensively describes the lichen species in kunyu mountain from the aspects of phenotypic characteristics, lichen chemistry, ecological environment, base material, etc.A total of 1 probable new and 8 newly-recorded species to China were found, enriched the composition of lichen species in shandong and provided data for the investigation of lichen resources in China.
