Taxonomic Study Of The Lichen Genus Porina Ach.from Chinese Mainland

The lichen genus Porina Ach.belongs to Porinaceae,Ostropales,Lecanoromycetes,Ascomycota,Fungi.The genus with nearly 400 species is widely distributed in the world,mainly distributed in tropical and subtropical areas.It is characterized by its crustose thallus corticolous,follicolous and saxicolous;perithecioid ascomata lens-shaped to subglobose;involucrellum deficient or well developed,with little carbonization;asci cylindrical to obclavate,with a chitin ring structure at the top,usually containing 6?8 spores;ascospores colorless,fusiform to elliptical,or clavate to filiform,having transversely septa or muriform;pycnidia spherical or bottle shape;conidia elliptic rod-shaped to linear,undivided,colorless and transparent;photobiont Trentepohlia or Phycopeltis;unknown chemical substances or no.Materials collected mainly from the southern provinces,such as Yunnan,Hainan,Fujian,Guangdong,Guangxi,Ghuizhou,and so on,which are deposited in the Herbarium Mycologicum Academiae Sinicae-Lichenes(HMAS-L),the Herbarium of Crytogams,Kunming Institute of Botany,Academia Sinica-Lichenes(KUN-L),the Lichen Section of Botanical Herbarium,Shandong Normal University(SDNU),and the Fungarium of the College of Life Sciences,Liaocheng University(LCUF).Studies of genus Porina in Chinese mainland are scare and lack of systematicness,mainly sporadic reports so far.According to these literatures,35 species have been reported in Chinese mainland.Using the comprehensive methods of morphology,anatomy,chemistry,biogeography and molecular systematic,23 species of Porina are reported and described in the present paper,including 9 new records from China,viz.: P.fluminea,P.fulvella,P.fulvula,P.internigrans,P.kamerunensis,P.oxneri,P.subrubrosphaera,P.tetramera and P.thaxteri,and including 3 new records from Chinese mainland,viz.: P.bellendenica,P.mastoidea and P.mastoidella.There are also 24 species recorded in the literature to be further confirmed and revised.This study combed the Porina taxa composition in Chinese mainland,provided detailed data for the systematic study of lichens in Chinese mainland.The study also laid a foundation for the protection and utilization of lichens biodiversity in China,and also provided relevant basic data for the study of fungal species diversity in the world.
