| The purpose of this thesis was to write a grant for a comprehensive counseling and linkage service for family caregivers who are providing direct care for their loved one with dementia and experience the emotional exhaustion of caregiver burden. The overall goal of this grant is to help decrease caregiver stress and burden by increasing their community and mental health support services. Upon the completion of an extensive literature review, this writer wrote a grant proposal for ONEgeneration, a local non-profit located in the San Fernando Valley. After conducting a thorough funding search, the MetLife Foundation was chosen as the most compatible funding source. This funding source was selected as its mission is to empower older adults and build adequate and successful communities. The actual submission of this grant for funding was not required for successful completion of this project. |
