| The current project presents the test development and implementation of an in-house designed Electronic Control Unit (ECU) for automotive applications. Electronic components such as switches, lights, motors, sensors, etc. throughout the vehicle uses Controller Area Network (CAN) Bus to communicate on single or dual-wire network. Four Door Control Module (DCM) ECU will preside in the vehicle: front right, front left, back right, and back left. To emulate and test the ECU features, a test board is designed to test on and off board passive electrical components using the National Instruments Compact Data Acquisition (NI C-DAQ) hardware and the Laboratory Virtual Instrument Engineering Workshop (LabView) software platform. Experimental results were gathered using the test equipment and LabVIEW to validate the correct operations of the DCM ECU inputs and outputs in a controlled environment. After the hardware has been validated under test conditions, it's ready to be tested under field conditions. |
