Abstract/Summary:
Passive cooling and daylighting can be significant form determinants for housing in Venezuela. La Casa Colonial is a traditional house in Venezuela mostly inspired by Spanish architecture from the Andalucia region due to climatic considerations. This house is found in all region of Venezuela and is part of the life style. The thesis evaluates the Casa Colonial for passive cooling and daylighting in order to develop energies saving design strategies that can be applied to contemporary architecture.
