In this context, we investigate analyze and conclude the passive cooling design strategies applicable to Jiangnan region based on its climatic feature and achieve the specific application in actual case for the passive cooling design strategies by the example of designing for the Transformation center building of SJTU.The character of climate is similar in Jiangnan region-wide. It is need to take correctly measures which are called the technology of passive heating and cooling to improve the phenomenon of over-heating of micro-climate for architecture and to extend transition season.Simultaneously, the decrease of mechanical refrigeration time and energy consumption and the increase of comfort level for people are also needed.Nevertheless, Deep-plan buildings are scarcely possible to provide a solution for improving the comfort level by using natural ways in all architectural forms. Meanwhile, huge energy consumption are taken by deep-plan buildings. Therefore, it`s necessary to explore the effective measures of passive heating and cooling against the deep-plan buildings.This paper mainly divided into the following several parts:Firstly, we provided the relatively research background, the reason and implications for selected topic and identified the fundamental method and framework based on the research content about this paper in the chapter one. The chapter two stated the climatic characteristics, district profile and architectural feature of JiangNan Region and scientific quantitative analysis its climatic feature. Secondly, in the third chapter, we investigated and analyzed the traditional architecture in Shanghai which belongs to the Jiang Nan Region and measured the typical traditional architecture. Through the sorting of related information, from the overall layout to architectural plane facade and details structure, we achieved the effective strategy of passive cooling via different methods such as natural ventilation, building shading, building thermal insulation and greenvegetation and so on. In chapter four, we concluded the effective applied measure and design approach and discussed enlightenment for passive cooling method of traditional building and the future applied in deep-plan buildings by combine the instance analysis about passive cooling strategy applied in deep-plan buildings. In the end of this paper, we verified the feasibility of passive cooling strategy by applied the passive cooling strategy in the designing process of medical transformation center of SJTU and visualized analysis it by relevant assistant software.
