Abstract/Summary:
A sensor network is a network formed by small remote sensors forming a wireless network and reporting to a station. A larger sensing task can be broken down into small tasks which can be distributed to a group of sensors that coordinate among themselves. Applications of these Sensor Networks, which can be used in the automobile industry, were developed. The applications include (1) Improving the transmission range of the sensor nodes and a mechanism to conserve power, (2) An Online Search Tool for the sensor collected data, (3) Automobile Tracking, (4) Safe Vehicular Passing and (5) Traffic Violation Detection.
