The Rerearch Of Automobile Special Issue During The 1920s And 1930s

Early in the 1920 s and 1930 s, the first newspaper in modern C hina Shun Pao opens up all kinds of various types of sections and special issues. At that time, a special issue about cars was created, originally named Shun Pao Automobile Section. By selecting some automobile news and advertisements from Shun Pao Automobile Section during 1921 and 1937 as the main objects of this research, I will classify and analyze these text from reports and advertisements, and then to find out some features of them during this period.From the research, it has found that automobile special issues in the 1920 s and 1930 s have such features. About the reports, firstly, there are large numbers of automobile news which are from foreign countries and have extensive themes, to meet the needs of readers to see the world. Secondly, in the automobile special issue, many reports are submitted from readers.They have diversified writing styles.By the limites of communication tools, their timeliness is not strong. Thirdly, some publicity reports occupy important positions, with a strong flavor of commercial marketing. Fourthly, the columns and comments are set up with obvious tendentiousness.They consciously lead readers to read and play the role of agenda setting.The advertisements also have some features.Firstly, the advertisements account for a bigger space and usually reach more than half of the page.And they make the important profit of newspapers.Secondly, it is rich in form of the advertisements.They always have pictures and words.But the long documents are short of creativity.Thirdly, there are mo re and more advertisers to notice the effect of publicity from newspaper advertising.And they become to advertise more and more.The types of goods from the advertisements are diversified.
