Abstract/Summary:
A wireless ad hoc network is a collection of mobile users that communicate over relatively bandwidth-constrained wireless links within a limited area. The routing protocol in these wireless networks must take special consideration to link failure and route maintenance in order that the network services will not be interrupted. To decrease the link failure, Anticipated Route Maintenance Protocol was proposed in 2001. However, this protocol did not check the detailed performance. In this thesis, the performance of the protocol has been studied using an ns-2 network simulator based on various values of T (the expected time to recover from failure), user mobility and three network layers.
